Brad Powers started in the industry as a key contributor to Phil Steele Publications which introduced him to Northcoast Sports. For six years, Brad was the main writer for Phil Steele's daily blog while also being the lead college football writer for Northcoast Sports' Power Sweep newsletter. For several years, Brad played a major role in all of the preseason national award watch lists such as the Lombardi, Outland, Nagurski, Maxwell, Bednarik and Thorpe while also appearing as a guest on thousands of radio shows including a weekly 1-hour spot on SiriusXM College Sports Nation with Bill King for 5 years. After being one of the lead handicappers at Northcoast Sports, Brad founded BP Sports and proceeded to place third in the 2015 Playbook Wise Guys contest while his Powers' Picks newsletter finished first besting such long-time staples like the Gold Sheet, Power Sweep and Playbook. As far as his handicapping philosophy goes, Brad is in constant search for finding value in the numbers – in addition to matchup edges, situational advantages, and hidden gems of information. Brad finds more big bets in the college versions of football and basketball, but his handicapping approach also uncovers selective winners in the pros. Small conferences are particularly his speciality. Brad's educational background includes a cum laude graduate degree from Bowling Green State University with a B.S. in Journalism. He also graduated first in his high school class. He currently resides in Las Vegas.
